During that time, the involvement of one man changed the whole game. And that one person was none other than Tesla CEO Elon Musk.

Yes, that’s right, Elon Musk was one of the primary forces that helped MrBeast and his team of creators plant 20 million+ trees under the Team Trees oath. Here’s what happened and how MrBeast got blessed by one of his role models.

Elon Musk donated $1 million to Team Trees and changed his name

In October 2019, YouTuber PWR Loserfruit uploaded a tweet on her personal account showing a scale of how 5000 trees might look like in real life by getting inspired by Fortnite. MrBeast who was the founder of Team Trees and the man behind the project of planting 20 million trees worldwide, retweeted that post saying, “And so far we have planted almost 6 million...THAT’S INSANE!”

Replying to the same post, billionaire Elon Musk curiously asked MrBeast if the plan to plant 20 million trees is legit. To this Youtuber, Marques Brownlee replied to Musk and said that it is absolutely legit. Thus, Elon, after getting vouched by YouTube itself, decided to donate $1 million to the cause then and there.

But surprisingly, this was not the end of it all. He even changed his username from Elon to ‘Treelon’ to show support for the cause even further. Notably, the donation that Musk made to Team Trees was considered the highest, thus making him the biggest donor to the cause.

Elon and his connection to Trees

A surprising fact that Elon Musk himself agreed upon came to light when a user named Renata Konkoly (@RenataKonkoly) pointed out that the name Elon in Hebrew actually means ‘Oak Tree’. Although, another user by the name of Shai (@ItsPapaia) corrected Konkoly by saying that it is actually spelled Alon instead of Elon.

Another fun fact is that Elon’s brother Kimbal Reeve Musk is an Environmentalist and also the co-founder of a 501 NGO called ‘Big Green‘. Notably, this is just a correlation of Elon with trees. But his main motive for saving humans comes from the fact that he initially plans to plant trees on Mars and eventually terraform the entire planet for humans to survive.
