Activision’s been working hard lately on making the community interested again in its ongoing installment Call of Duty Modern Warfare II. The game has witnessed a lot of unwanted troubles so far. That’s because of the lack of content and exciting stuff to explore, going by the online reactions so far. However, it looks like the upcoming Season 3 update will likely change things in a positive way.

Season 3 is packed with elements that will surely end up fascinating lots of fans. Especially those, who want to try out something different in the premium installment and its Multiplayer setup. Considering that, the addition of a brand new map in Black Gold will definitely keep them engaged. Why? Because it is vastly different than the other standard maps featured in MWII since its debut last year.

The combination of night vision goggles and a dark setting in Black Gold will please Call of Duty Modern Warfare II players

Black Gold is based on the Rohan Oil section of Al Mazrah. Going by the official description mentioned by the devs in a recent blog for the map, it represents a “critical strategic location for both KorTac and SpecGru” factions.

Speaking of factions, then this night mode map in Call of Duty Modern Warfare II has also got dedicated spawn points for both the teams, similar to other Multiplayer maps. While KorTaq faction’s players will spawn on the west side at the Security Gate, SpecGru members will spawn on the East side at the Backlot. Overall, the map is divided into five main sections. Players will need to make sure they take cover when necessary. Plus, they will need to be careful about the motion-activated lights around the Main Warehouse, and also in the Control Room. Another crucial tip is to use the Ghost Ultimate Perk in order to prevent the enemies from discovering one’s position.

Not to mention the NVGs (night vision goggles) themselves, which are the main highlight of the Black Gold map. Players will be able to manually activate and deactivate them during a match. This will enable them to utilize the goggles in an effective manner, depending on the amount of light in a given area across the map.

Activision’s Call of Duty Modern Warfare II is now available worldwide. Players can purchase it on PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X\S, Xbox One, and PC. The game will receive its next major Season 3 update on April 12th, which will include the aforementioned night map as well.
