Yes, a Black Panther video game is reportedly in the works, according to an industry insider. The scoop has also mentioned other significant details about the game and its possible genre.
Fans are ecstatic as the latest leak reveals a Black Panther open-world Marvel game to be in development
Ever since the genius actor and late Chadwick Boseman appeared as T’Challa, the King of Wakanda in Marvel’s Black Panther movie four years ago, the popularity of the character has reached to an unprecedented level. When it comes to gaming, he has already made an appearance in Marvel’s Avengers. However, that was in the form of a DLC expansion.
But recently, industry insider Nibel, on Twitter, dropped a big news coming from reputed scooper Jeff Grubb. The latter has revealed a dedicated Black Panther video game to be in development at the moment. Not only that, it’s going to be an open-world project, published by Electronic Arts. As of now, the leaked game is titled, Project Rainier.

Going by Grubb’s description, the game will involve single-player elements while giving the players the option to become the new Black Panther. Moreover, it may imply that the title may not feature T’Challa’s character to be selected as the King of Wakanda. It’s yet to be revealed whether T’Challa will be dead at the beginning of this game or not in order to pass on the mantle of the superhero to the player.
