Recently, Speedy went on an IRL date while streaming it live on his channel. From start to finish, the stream was a wild ride. From awkward conversations to weird interactions between Speed and his date, the audience enjoyed every crazy but highly entertaining moment of the stream.

IRL streaming is one of the most popular trends in the streaming meta scene right now. Many big names in the scene are taking their mobile devices outdoors to share a day with their favorite streamers and let their audience experience what it feels like to have them as IRL friends, adding another layer to the “parasocial” dynamic.

On April 23, 2023, IShowSpeed took IRL streaming to a new level by live-streaming the “Prom Date”. It began with him going to his date’s house and picking her up. For his romantic escapade, Speed donned a black suit and black pants, but since he is a die-hard soccer fan, he had to add something that defined that. 

Under the black suit, Speedy wore an official Manchester United shirt. Seeing his fit, his date was set aback. But that was just the beginning. The awkwardness and the secondhand embarrassment only grew from there. Speedy took his date to a park and then to a restaurant, but the chat kept on dropping ‘L’s because none of his plans worked out the way he wanted. His date even refused to kiss him live on the stream.

On Twitter the fans continued the troll train, making fun of Speed’s Rizz and Drip game. “this mf can not dress,” said one user while others joined in saying, “Bro Manchester shirt seriously.” Some even said that this may have been the most awkward date ever recorded in the history of live streaming.
