Hideo Kojima is considered the pioneer of video game development because of his visionary ideas. With games like the Metal Gear series, revolutionary games like Death Stranding, and Horror pioneers like Silent Hill, Hideo Kojima is the avant-garde of video games.

Thus it is not surprising that his production house Kojima Productions has some real value in it. Therefore, a recent podcast reveals how many have offered him an extraordinary amount of money to buy his studio. But there is a reason he doesn’t want to sell it, and it’s very personal.

Hideo Kojima has been offered money to sell his studio

According to the latest podcast with Brain Structure on Spotify, video game-developing genius Hideo Kojima said he is being offered huge sums of money to sell his studio, Kojima Productions. Later, in a report by Metro GC it was made clear that this money was most likely offered by companies like Sony or Microsoft, to buy the studio and reportedly the IPs along with it.

“Every day I am approached by offers [from] all over the world to buy our studio. Some of those offers are ridiculously high prices but it’s not that I want money. I want to make what I want to make. That’s why I created this studio,” Kojima said during the podcast. “So as long as I’m alive, I don’t think I will ever accept those offers.”

It is also to be noted that Hideo Kojima also said that his production company is actually an indie studio, and thus they consider working alone. This is also for the fact that Kojima has been denied from making many revolutionary games in the past, that he thought were genius in one way or the other.

What will the visionary do next?

Apart from that, Hideo Kojima has been working on several new projects. It is also to be noted that in the past few weeks, they have been promoting the new Silent Hill Ascension as well.

This is especially intriguing as Konami, the producer for Silent Hill games had cut ties with the gaming genius after he spent a lot of the production money on making Metal Gear Solid V. Thus it is really interesting to see how this upcoming Silent Hill game works for both of them.
