Activision’s installment of this year’s Call of Duty, Call of Duty: Vanguard is awaiting its release next month. The community will be surprised to learn, however, that Call Of Duty 2022 has had its name leaked already.

While last year’s Call Of Duty, Call of Duty: Cold War, was developed by Treyarch, this year’s upcoming title will be developed by Sledgehammer Games. And it only makes sense that Infinity Ward will handle next year’s installment.

Infinity Ward’s last release, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, again broke sales records. The campaign was well-received, and it seems that Infinity Ward’s take on the series was quite welcome. The game ended with the protagonist Captain Price setting up the fan-favorite Task Force 141, indicating a possible sequel, and Infinity Ward’s next release will probably be a sequel and pick up where the predecessor left off for Call of Duty 2022.

He further went on to say that as for now, the game is titled Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II. This franchise has had a long line of Modern Warfare games. Including remasters, sequels, and reboots, there are a total of 6 Modern Warfare titles. Moreover, considering that there is already a game called Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, next year’s Call of Duty title seems to be a bit confusing.
