Zombies have been an essential part of every Call of Duty Black Ops title so far. From its origins in the 2008 release of Black Ops, the mode has come a long way both in terms of gameplay and storyline. Zombies are currently following the Dark Aether storyline which has encompassed 5 seasons of content and earlier today, Cold War developers Treyarch took to Twitter to provide a teaser for season 6.

The tweet showcases a familiar image for those who have previously played the campaign mode for Call of Duty Black Ops Cold War. It is a picture of the building from the game’s sixth campaign mission titled “Redlight, Greenlight”. In addition to this, it features messages from the Requiem Special Forces commander Weaver and their undercover agent, Sergei Ravenov. The message reads, “This is the place. We must make our stand here.”

What will Call of Duty Zombies Season 6 entail?

More often than not, this message indicates that the two factions, Requiem and Omega, will have one final battle here. This also flows with the story and could indicate that Zykov eventually makes his way out of the Dark Aether and brings the demonic creatures that he has been talking about along with him.

Despite the interesting storyline progression so far, Treyarch has been heavily criticized for re-using a campaign map rather than creating a brand new map for the finale of zombies in Call of Duty Black Ops Cold War. However, Treyarch could make all the haters eat their words if they provide a satisfying finale to the longest zombies storyline that we have seen in Call of Duty.

Given that season 5 is ending on October 6th, 2021, it is safe to assume that the new season will go live on October 7th. Although Treyarch has teased only one map in this screenshot, we will not be surprised if they include a few more.
