Each Halloween is a big time for video games, especially multiplayer titles. These multiplayer titles bring new content every single year, letting players enjoy holiday festivities. This year is no different, with Call of Duty set to bring Halloween special skins.

The first look at three skins set to come this year: The first is a female Operator skin with a crow theme going. The mask almost looks like the ones doctors from Assassin’s Creed 2 wore, with a mysterious tone to it. This is only the beginning, as the next two skins raise the bar to a whole new level. The second skin is a pumpkin head, only with an added twist. The Operator has a blue flame emanating from the inside of the head.

The third skin arguably looks like the best operator coming as part of the Halloween bundle. What makes it look impressive is the detailing on the skin. It is simply not just an operator, but looks like a zombie, with pieces of flesh torn out and the bone showing. The skin might be even scarier once you see it charging you in the final circle.

Apart from this, fans expect minor details to be added to the map, such as Jack-o-Lanterns as well as other Halloween decorations.

Fans have a mixed take on the new skin

Right off the bat, some fans wanted to get their hands on the skin as soon as they could. The bundle looks like it will have a healthy number of buyers on release.

Meanwhile, other fans did not like at all was the skins looking similar to Fortnite skins, especially the one with the pumpkin. Fortnite has, in the past, released quite a few skins that looked similar as part of the Halloween theme.

While these bundles are part of the experience, they are seasonal. And some feel that the same amount of effort woud be better utilized in making overall game improvements. While updates do fix some bugs, the primary focus for Call of Duty looks like releasing these skins, since they are a big source of revenue.

Amidst talk of the Halloween theme, fans felt Call of Duty lost their touch when it came to doing Halloween themes. The one skin that would fit perfectly is the serial killer from the classic slasher franchise, Halloween, starring Michael Myers.

While there will be a lot of buyers for these skins, the general outlook from fans shows they are disappointed. What they want is time invested in making the gameplay aspects better and fixing bugs in the game.
