Hacking has become a serious problem in gaming these days, and most players are undoubtedly frustrated with the rise of such incidents. So much so that some of them now want a serious punishment for anyone who is caught having an unfair advantage in popular titles. Especially the Call of Duty franchise, which has recently witnessed a flood of instances involving notorious cheaters.

But now, it seems like hackers and cheaters won’t be able to survive for long in Modern Warfare II as well as Warzone 2. Call of Duty devs have recently rolled out their enhanced version of RICOCHET anti-cheat. Not to mention that regular players are quite happy with this action against those who tend to take an unfair edge over them.

Call of Duty players believe a strengthened anti-cheat software in Modern Warfare II will leave cheating streamers disappointed

In case anyone missed keeping track of events, Activision has revealed a new version of its RICOCHET program. Now, it can even detect the usage of Cronus when used in games like Modern Warfare II and Warzone 2. For those who are not aware, Cronus is a third-party hardware device used by hackers and cheaters. These devices perform as a passthrough for controllers on PC and consoles.

When used in a malicious way, the Cronus ends up providing an unfair advantage to the players in Call of Duty matches. For example, their recoil value in weapons gets reduced, offering them better and more accurate shots against their opponents. However, now it won’t be possible for them to implement this device and its related software in Modern Warfare II and Warzone 2.

At least that’s what many fans believe, going by their reactions online. According to some users, those content creators who rely on such tactics won’t be able to do so going forward. “all you STREAMERS aren’t safe anymore!! get banned losers!” wrote an individual.
