Call of Duty Insider Reveals Information about Warzone Nuke Event and Future of Verdansk

Recently rumors have surfaced regarding the position of the map Verdansk in Call of Duty’s Warzone. Verdansk is a major city located in Kastovia, a fictional country featured in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare. Furthermore, it was the first map to be featured in Call of Duty’s battle royale and plunder game-modes.

New Warzone map?

Call of Duty fans have also been anticipating a ‘Nuke’ event. Despite the fact that Captain Price disarmed the nuke in bunker 10, there has been much speculation that the event will feature the destruction of Verdansk.

The fire of these rumors has been further fueled by Tom Henderson. Previously, Tom had teased the possible location of Call of Duty 2021 and a standalone Call of Duty ‘Zombies’ game. He recently took to Twitter saying, “The current plan for Warzone is that Verdansk will never return.”

Additionally, he revealed that Warzone maps will continue to change as the story progresses.

Other predictions state that the new zombies ‘Outbreak’ game-mode could impact the future of Verdansk and Warzone. With the arrival of the Russian ship Vodianoy on the shores of Verdansk, fans believe that it could initiate a zombie apocalypse that will take over Verdansk.

Future of Call of Duty

With the impending doom coming to Verdansk fans have already started theorizing what the next map could be. Most predictions involve a new Russian map based in the Ural Mountains. Hence, it wouldn’t be a surprise if we witness points of interest like Alpine, Golova, Ruka, and Sanatorium in Warzone.

The new season of Warzone that arrived on February 25, 2021, bought an array of changes to the game. Firstly, we saw several new points of interest in Verdansk. Next, we got four new operators in the form of Naga, Samantha Maxis, Wolf, and Rivas. Lastly, we got 4 new weapons, including a new SMG and assault rifle.

It is evident that Treyarch does not shy away from change but rather embraces it. While nothing is confirmed yet, we won’t put it past the company to make some drastic changes to the game.
