Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 Armory System Invites Strong Backlash, Confused Players Call It “Worse Than Mobile Games”

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 is out, but how far has it grown from the poor reviews during the beta run? Unfortunately, the initial reception to the big launch has not been what the developers would have hoped. Among all the changes and innovations Activision has brought in Modern Warfare 3, the armory system has been the highlight. Apparently, for all the wrong reasons, though. The new armory system is receiving strong backlash from the community.

Following the game’s release, despite the mixed and poor reviews, it has become a top-seller. Yet the armory system has left players unhappy and complaining. Why?

From the single-player mode being called a DLC to the scrutiny of newly introduced features, the campaign of MW3 has attracted a lot of unfavourable reviews. A lot of fans had hoped things would get better for the campaign post the final launch. 

While the business numbers suggest the launch has indeed worked in favor of the makers, the fan complaints around the game only seem to outgrow it. According to one player, the armory system is only creating confusion and has failed to appeal to any CoD fan. This is worse than f**king mobile games dude!” a player ranted in a video he shared.

For those unaware, you can begin using the Armory Unlock feature in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 multiplayer at level 25. As you progress through the trials, you’ll notice that a lot of weaponry, gadgets, and field enhancements are locked behind closed doors. In order to unlock each one, you will need to accomplish daily challenges. 

Think about how you have to finish the three daily challenges and activate the challenge log. What’s the issue? The Daily Tasks have an end. After finishing, you’ll have to wait for more during the following rotation. Popular CoD gamer StoneMountain took to their social media and ranted on the same issue. 

The rage goes beyond the popular names in the CoD streaming industry, as most of the fans weren’t pleased with the armory system.

Many players are standing by their decision not to buy the latest installment of Call of Duty. With many players not happy with certain aspects of the game, one player called it “steaming donkey sh*t.”

 

Another player understands the intent but doesn’t agree with the Armory System.

A player takes a hilarious dig at Activision for making some bold decisions that haven’t been received well by the community. However, further comments verified the fact that Infinity Ward and Sledgehammer Games are the devs. 

Another fan expresses concerns about the developers’ policy of bringing unwanted changes constantly with the CoD labels, apparently only making things worse for the experience.

Many players took issue with the MW3 Campaign. The game also has its fair share of bugs. So with this new Armory system, A CoD fan expressed disappointment, stating, “just when I thought it couldn’t get any worse.”
