Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 is on the verge of its anticipated release. After a long wait, players will get to enjoy it next month. Especially, those who are fond of spending more time in Multiplayer modes. The upcoming installment is going to please them very much. It’s because Sledgehammer’s team will bring back numerous iconic gameplay options from past offerings. But some fans also want the next COD to have a specific addition from an old title from the studio which happens to be the most disliked game in the series – Vanguard.

Seems like some players are still fond of Vanguard, but not entirely. They are missing one of its most unique features introduced by Sledgehammer back in 2021. Later, it was removed completely from the game. However, players waiting for Modern Warfare 3’s Multiplayer now want it back.

For the uninitiated, Combat Pacing was originally revealed in 2021’s Vanguard installment. The feature simply enables a player to customize the way to play by choosing the pacing before the match begins. The pacing options that one receives are mentioned below:

  • Tactical: It’s for the base pacing speed, mostly suitable for 6v6 maps and modes. On smaller maps like Shipment, this option supports the 4v4 format.
  • Assault: It’s the middle option that supports a maximum of 10 players on each side. On the other hand, Shipment supported 6v6  gameplay.
  • Blitz: It’s the fastest way to play Multiplayer matches, featuring an increased speed in the overall combat pacing. It supported between 10 and 14 players per team. However, maps like Shipment, Das Haus, and Mayhem supported 7v7 and 10v10.

Now it looks like some players are feeling the absence of Combat Pacing in the action franchise. Recently, a Reddit user took to the social platform to share a post on the significance of this MP feature. The Redditor mentioned that Combat Pacing “was one of the best additions added to a COD game”. And that it must come back with the arrival of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3.

Simply put, the user indirectly urged the devs to bring back the option. Previously too, there have been several instances where players have mentioned Combat Pacing as one of the most effective things seen in an otherwise forgettable Vanguard experience.

Meanwhile, all eyes are currently set on the big launch of MW3. Speaking of its Multiplayer content, players will end up getting a lot of surprises. Firstly, they will receive an improved gameplay, compared to last year’s MWII. The movement will feel faster and even more fluid, thanks to some of the returning mechanics like slide canceling. New options like Tac-Stance will also be available to utilize.

Furthermore, 16 remastered maps are coming back from 2009’s Modern Warfare 2. Nostalgia fans will get to revisit iconic areas like Favela, Rust, Highrise, Estate, and Scrapyard once again. What’s more? Modern Warfare 3 will also allow the players to keep using their purchased bundles and cosmetics from the existing title. They won’t have to worry about losing all of their purchased content in MWII.
