Call of Duty fans around the world were super-stoked about season 6 in Modern Warfare and Warzone. With the new season, two new weapons also arrived in the game, but no one expected them to create such a havoc in the meta.

The two new weapons are the AS VAL and SP-R 208. The former is an automatic rifle, and the latter is the new sniper in the game. Unfortunately, these guns are so over-powered that every player is just spamming them to win games. Developers at Infinity Ward soon realized this, and they have released the latest patch for the game that tunes both these guns.

The latest Call of Duty guns receive a quick nerf just after their arrival

Apart from their insane power, the guns were also having some glitches. The SSP 10-R  mags in the AS VAL were allowing penetration through multiple walls. Such a glitch just blurs any possibility of fair combat between the players, and a lot of players complained about others exploiting this glitch.

The new sniper, SP-R 208, was having some bigger problems. The sniper was over-powered to a level where it was beating AR’s in closing range and players were annoyed. Considering the complaints, the recent patch brings the following changes :

  • The gun will have increased flinch and a slightly reduced ADS speed.
  • With the variable zoom scopes, the moved weapon will be closer to players, while ADSing and ADS speed is also reduced.
  • There is a reduction in bullet velocity and ADS speed with the .300 Norma mag and .338 Lapua Mag ammo types.

Other changes in the game excluding the new weapons

There will be a reduction in the ADS speed for the marksman rifle, SKS, for variable zoom scopes. Another glitch in the game, through which the players could survive in the gas while staying on the subway fast travel system, is also fixed.

However, there are some other things that need to be fixed as soon as possible, like the stim glitch. Stim is the tactical equipment in Call of Duty that increases survivability in the games. It heals the combat wounds and refreshes tactical sprint. However, a lot of Warzone players were abusing the stim by remaining in the gas and healing unconditionally to win the games. Infinity Ward’s teams are already working on a solution.

With new changes in games, there is always a scope of unavoidable errors. Being part of a gaming community that is based on fair-play, players should always refrain from exploiting such bugs and glitches.
