Since its highly awaited debut last year, Call of Duty Modern Warfare II has been in the news for endless reasons. Despite being a blockbuster release for the action series, many players have given it lukewarm reactions. That could be due to the lack of content, going by the general consensus from the last few weeks. That’s why the makers are now leaving no stone unturned in making it better and outstanding.

Call of Duty will be dropping a new season later this month. Previously, the update was expected to launch at the beginning of February. But then, it got pushed a little further. Talking about what it will offer, there’s much to get hyped for, especially for the fans of Modern Warfare II’s Multiplayer mode. With the arrival of Season 2, they will witness tons of unexpected changes. The upcoming season will likely make the base game worth playing as far as the Multiplayer experience is concerned.

According to the devs, as revealed in the blog as mentioned earlier, there will be a lot of weapon balancing involved. Call of Duty Modern Warfare II fans will receive drastic changes to specific options that are overly powered or less effective. Interestingly, though, Season 2 will reveal five new weapons for the Multiplayer setup. The latter also applies to Warzone 2 and DMZ. Currently, there’s no official intel available on these weapons. But several leaks suggest that there will be a crossbow and a Vepr-12 shotgun.

More Maps (maybe)

When it comes to having lots of playable areas, MWII has been underwhelming. That’s one of the key reasons why most users are upset with Multiplayer. Season 2, however, might reveal some new locations. A previously removed map in Valderas Museum is rumored to be added back. The Resurgence Map for Warzone 2, Ashika Island, is expected to be included in the Multiplayer experience. At least, that’s what some are hoping for.

New Modes

The upcoming season will reveal two fan-favorite modes: Ranked Play and Hardcore. The latter will completely replace the existing Tier 1 from the MP setup because it has not received a good response. As noted by popular YouTuber WhosImmortal, some leaked details suggest the return of classic modes like Gunfight. Gun Game is also rumored to make a comeback.

Apart from the fundamental changes, the developing team will also make some refinements regarding the audio. Plus, there will be Perk balancing involved in the upcoming season. For example, players will be able to earn the Ghost perk earlier in the matches. What’s more? Well, a brand new Operator is also making his way to Season 2. As seen in 2019’s rebooted Modern Warfare, Ronin will be back for the ongoing installment.
