Call of Duty Modern Warfare II launched to a great response from fans in November of 2022. It was one of the best-selling titles in the series and it ended up being one of the best-selling titles of the month.

When it launched though, its multiplayer was missing a crucial game mode. The exclusion of that mode confused fans a little. However, as per a recent leak, Infinity Ward is finally planning to release that mode soon!

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II is finally getting the Ranked Mode

The Ranked Mode in Call of Duty multiplayer is usually a mode that runs on the rules set by the Call of Duty League. CDL usually has 4 member teams and a limited number of weapons to choose from. Aside from the above restrictions, the Ranked Mode also has only a few modes to play through, such as Hardpoint, Search and Destroy, and Control.

This means that this mode is specifically for the players that are willing to give up some of their favorite loadouts and have the ability to shine even with just a few weapons available to them.

The mode is apparently unforgiving because CDL is considered a hardcore professional league for Call of Duty players. Moreover, this mode simply gives them a lot of practice in case someone is planning to move into the professional domain.

Aside from this competitive ruleset, the Ranked Mode also has an Expanded Learning Opportunities System which means a player’s rank would change depending on their performance in their last match.

The Ranked Mode has been a long time coming

Previously there were rumors that the Ranked Mode would be coming to Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II sometime in 2023. If the latest leaks are anything to go by, this might be the case.

It just means that we might see the Ranked Mode make its debut with Season 2 of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II in mid-January 2023.

Fans are already excited about this mode and have started asking Infinity Ward for Gunfight mode. Let us see how Infinity Ward responds to these fan requests. Till then, let us just wait for the Ranked Mode to finally arrive.
