Call of Duty is going to offer a new and probably its most ambitious installment so far in Modern Warfare II. The upcoming entry is currently one of the most anticipated releases of 2022.

With a lot of hype going for it, there’s sad news that was recently revealed online regarding Call of Duty Modern Warfare II. It looks like Xbox fans won’t get it on the Game Pass subscription service when it makes an official debut.

Call of Duty Modern Warfare II is reportedly not coming to Xbox Game Pass

For the past few months, the news of Microsoft’s expected acquisition of Activision has been doing the rounds on social media. So it was obvious for the hardcore lovers of Call of Duty to speculate that the next major premium will be available on the Xbox Game Pass.

There were rumors regarding Modern Warfare II arriving on Microsoft’s subscription service in 2022. Interestingly, during the recent event, the team Xbox even featured the game among its other offerings, coming in the next 12 months.

However, this won’t happen, at least not until the deal between Microsoft and Activision is fully completed, according to CharlieIntel.

The outlet recently tweeted out a piece of crucial information about Call of Duty Modern Warfare II. It clearly stated that the next big installment in the action franchise is “not launching on Xbox Game Pass”. CharlieIntel mentioned that Activision is yet to be acquired by Microsoft and the deal is likely to finish only by the next year in June.

Hence, it won’t make any sense for the game to release on the Xbox Game Pass. Simply put, it will remain under the PlayStation exclusivity period for the next one year.

In case this reveal turns out to be true, it will be a bummer for all the curious fans. Especially those, who were hoping for MWII’s debut on the subscription service.
