Call of Duty Modern Warfare II Season 5: It’s Time To ‘Strike’ With a Fan-Favorite Map From 2007

With the upcoming Season 5, Call of Duty Modern Warfare II will reveal tons of new content. This means players will have a variety of fresh modes, weapons, and Operators to choose from. However, they will also get to witness some new maps too.

Continuing its tradition of introducing classic elements, MWII has recently confirmed the return of a fan-favorite map from nearly two decades ago. This map was first featured in the original Modern Warfare from Infinity Ward. Well, it’s now coming back to strike again!

For those who are not aware, 2007’s CoD 4 was the first Modern Warfare offering from Infinity Ward. It was the game that paved the way for an iconic sub-series that has amassed massive popularity today. This entry had a lot of amazing Multiplayer maps and Strike was one of them. To some, it’s the greatest map in the franchise history. And now, it’s set to make its presence felt, once again, in 2023.

In a pre-release blog for Season 5, the devs mentioned that Strike is coming to Call of Duty Modern Warfare II. “Turn the clock back 15 years to one of the core maps of Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare. Alongside its brethren in Shipment and Showdown, Strike will be restored to its full glory in Season 05, thanks to the latest Infinity Ward engine and technology”, reads the blog.

Despite its overhaul, the iconic map will still feel the same, according to the makers. Especially, when it comes to giving nostalgic vibes to the veterans. There will be some adjustments, though, that players will get to see upon its debut next month. Strike will be a core 6v6 map for the Multiplayer experience.

Activision’s Call of Duty Modern Warfare II is now available worldwide on PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X\S, Xbox One, and PC. Its Season 5 content will drop on August 2, 2023. Moreover, the action franchise will end up receiving a brand new installment later this year. Per the rumors, it will be a direct continuation of the existing game.
