Simply put, Call of Duty has caught up with the growing trend of doing collaborations. In fact, they saw an increase in 2022 with Modern Warfare II, Activision’s latest premium offering. In November last year, fans witnessed an unexpected yet extravagant football-themed event featuring playable Operators based on football icons like Lionel Messi, Paul Pogba, and Neymar Jr.
Taking that into consideration, what if the AAA blockbuster crossed paths with characters like Ellie and Joel from a different gaming IP like The Last of Us? After all, they both fit the criteria of perfect and highly skilled top-level operators.

Simply put, the craze for The Last of Us is only going to escalate further in the long run. However, there’s still one more thing the team of Neil Druckmann at Naughty Dog, under Sony, can do to make this series break all kinds of records. Given the fact that Call of Duty is one of the most iconic franchises out there, also consisting of recent crossover streaks with pop culture/entertainment IPs, it makes a lot of sense for these two franchises to come together at some point in the future.

Considering the fact that Modern Warfare II has a two-year life cycle, makers can come up with a special event in the near future. One, where you get to play as Ellie, or Joel or even a Clicker! Witnessing the monster creature from the PlayStation saga in a CoD title will be mind-boggling. In fact, a dedicated Clickers-only event could end up being a huge hit (as an alternative to Zombies).
