The change in approach by the devs, compared to the original Warzone title, is one of the main reasons for why players are upset with the ongoing battle royale. And now, a renowned gamer and COD streamer has shared some unexpected opinions on what’s been the major cause of Warzone 2’s extreme failure. Moreover, he also revealed why he couldn’t express his honest sentiments before the release of the game in 2022.

ModernWarzone unveils the real truth about Call of Duty Warzone 2 while apologizing to the community
In case anyone is not aware of him, ModernWarzone (real name Doug) is a highly popular Warzone player and streamer. He gained huge recognition three years ago when he started playing the very first Warzone entry in 2020. Since then, the content creator has amassed a massive fan following on social media, due to his opinions on the COD franchise. In general, he’s been a credible personality in the community for the last three years.
However, recently, Doug posted a video of himself on Twitter, while apologizing to his followers. He revealed that he was wrong about Call of Duty Warzone 2. It’s been a failure and he knew it from the very beginning.

Moreover, while giving the reason for sharing his true feelings so late, he said that he was trying to convince himself that it had the potential to be better. But that wasn’t the case at all when he initially tested it out. “I knew, and almost everyone knew, from the moment we played it at COD NEXT. From the moment we found out about all the new mechanics and the way the game worked, we knew this s**t was not gonna over well this year. Our feedback wasn’t really listened to.“

He mentioned that he should have expressed his actual feedback to the community last year but he couldn’t do that. He was trying to give Warzone 2 the benefit of doubt in the hope of witnessing a better version of it eventually. And that’s what most of the other streamers decided to do who were invited to COD NEXT.

But the real truth was that the battle royale was simply no match for its predecessor. “We chose, clearly, the wrong path because this s**t didn’t grow on anybody and for that, I apologize to all of you,” he said.
