Call of Duty Warzone has been battling with Fortnite and Apex Legends to become the best battle royale for a while now. However, the abundance of cheaters and broken mechanics are holding it back from achieving that objective. On the other hand, the game recently underwent some changes to its map to keep things fresh and attract new players.

Call of Duty took to Twitter to reveal a mysterious object located outside the Verdank k1984 stadium. Only the base of the structure can be seen with the top covered. In an attempt to garner attention around it, Call of Duty asked fans “What lies beneath the tarp?”

While we will have no solid proof until Activision actually unveils the structure, fans have come up with their own theories. One fan poked fun at the lack of anti-cheat software in Warzone commenting, “Probably this statue wondering how Warzone still doesn’t have a good anti-cheat.”

Another popular theory is that the statue will pay tribute to an e-sports competition because it is located outside a stadium. It also lines up with the return of the Call of Duty League. One player noticed the inscription of the word “Champions” at the tarp base, which further validates this theory.

Due to the height of the statue, Twitter users have hilariously predicted that the structure is of Lady Dimitrescu from Resident Evil Village. On the other hand, some fans commented that it is a poster revealing the highly anticipated competitor to Warzone, Battlefield 6.
