Since its debut towards the end of 2022, DMZ has received good reactions from the players for its uniqueness. It feels way different than the fast-paced, intense atmosphere of the usual battle royale mode of Warzone 2. Lately, however, this mode has faced a lot of unfavorable feedback due to unnecessary changes made by the developers. On top of that, the growing bugs and inexplicable exploits have further damaged the reputation of the extraction-themed experience.

Major exploit found in Call of Duty Warzone 2 is helping DMZ players to access free contrabend weapons

DMZ is known to be very rude to the players who fail to extract successfully at the end of a given match. They lose all their insured weapons and then they have to wait for a long time in order to access their preferred loadouts. In other words, there’s a cooldown timer that keeps running on the contrabend weapons. Players can’t equip the locked guns, sniper rifles, or pistols unless the cooldown ends. Also, contrabend weapons can be modified only at certain locations in the map. The best ones are usually acquired from dead operators.

However, now there exists a method by which Call of Duty Warzone 2 players can access free contrabend weapons. Thanks to a recently discovered exploit in the game, doing this is possible.

A YouTuber known as G_Traits recently shared a weird DMZ trick for getting free weapons. The short clip posted by the user shows them using an exploit in order to successfully access fully tuned and modded insured weapons. For accomplishing this result, they started their campaign by entering the map of Al Mazrah.

Later in the video, G_Traits was seen heading to the entrance of DMZ’s newly added location, the Koschei Complex. The latter can be found in the Oasis zone. Upon reaching at the desired point, the YouTuber drops their insured weapons and then instantly picks them again before reaching to a different area.

When the loading screen pops up, the player fully shuts down the game. After relaunching it, they go to the loadouts menu in DMZ, showing that their insured weapons are now contrabend weapons despite the insured slots not going through a cooldown. That’s how G_Traits managed to successfully utilize the mysterious exploit.
