Call of Duty franchise looks to make a grand return with a bang in the upcoming Modern Warfare II installment. Even before its highly anticipated debut, the next major premium from Activision is already a huge hit among the fans.

Going by recent numbers based on Steam, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II’s pre-order sales stood among the top three best-sellers in the past week. Well, this was quite expected given the sheer amount of hype the game is receiving.

Modern Warfare II was the highlight of the last week, as it finally witnessed a worldwide reveal. The main trailer showed the intensity and high-octane action that will drive the fans crazy when the game releases later this year.

Just a day after the trailer’s launch, Call of Duty also unveiled the first exclusive gameplay footage from Modern Warfare II. The clip, which was under 8 minutes in duration, showed an exciting feature in Water Tech. The latter will play a very crucial part in the sequel, going by the developer Infinity Ward.

Talking about the availability, then Call of Duty had already offered the option to pre-order MWII after releasing its trailer on June 8, 2022. Recently, SteamDatabase, a platform that keeps track of Steam’s sales numbers, revealed that the awaited game is already a solid hit.

According to the report by the website, Modern Warfare II was the third best-selling title on Steam last week, thanks to its pre-orders. It seems like all the eager fans couldn’t wait for the ultimate date of launch. Hence, many of them opted to pre-purchase the upcoming installment.

Modern Warfare II took the third spot while pushing a heavyweight like Elden Ring is in the fourth position.
