Warner Bros. and Avalanche Software released Hogwarts Legacy a while ago to universally positive reviews. The game sold 256% more than its expected amount, which made its success sweeter for the developer and publisher.

This game had pretty much everything: multiple spells, a beautiful open world to explore, multiple endings, and much more. Yet, fans felt something was amiss, and that was Quidditch. Fans really missed the presence of that sport in this game that had pretty much everything from that world.

There were always hopes for Avalanche to bring this minigame to Hogwarts Legacy as DLC, but that was never confirmed. And now Quidditch would be making its way to the players, but not the way they expected!

After Hogwarts Legacy, Warner Bros. is finally releasing a Quidditch game!

Now Quidditch is unmistakably the most competitive aspect of the Harry Potter books. Players fly around on those brooms trying to defeat their competition by either securing a goal or capturing that snitch. We are pretty much aware of how the game works.

These games look seriously fun to play, but just like the world of Harry Potter itself, they do not exist in reality. Hence, the excellence of Hogwarts Legacy convinced everyone that maybe they would be able to play this legendary sport of wizards in that video game. But that never happened, and it is understandable why WB never approached that idea.

A game based on Quidditch is ripe for monetization possibilities, and everyone knows there’s no match for WB when it comes to monetizing their properties. Hence, they never added Quidditch to Hogwarts Legacy in order to bring it to fans in the form of a completely competitive multiplayer game.

This game was very recently announced by WB on Twitter. They also mentioned that the game would have closed playtests, and all interested gamers and fans of the series can register for a chance to try this game once.

The game does not seem to have those realistic visuals like Hogwarts Legacy. It is also being developed by a developer known as Unbroken Studios. It is a small studio that does secondary work on triple-A games such as Call of Duty, Battlefield, etc.

According to its FAQ page, it would support player customization. Here’s hoping it allows for broom customization too, just so WB can keep selling paint jobs through those stores.
