Monster Hunter for a larger audience? fans say ‘Yes’

In a recent shareholders’ meeting, Capcom announced some exciting news about the company’s future plans. There was some interesting news on the expansion of Resident Evil Code Veronica. Although the company didn’t speak much about this popular game, fan favorite Monster Hunter received much of its spotlight.

Capcom declared that currently, the company is thinking to bring Monster Hunter to a larger audience. This question specifically focused on Sengoku BASARA and Onimusha series- “What are your future plans for expanding the Monster Hunter, Toraware no Paruma, Sengoku BASARA, and Onimusha series?” In response, we received an affirmative answer but not many details on what expansion the company is hinting about- “We are carrying out discussions regarding the future expansion of these titles so they can be enjoyed by a wide audience.”

Monster Hunter as a movie?

Although there weren’t many details, fans are speculating about new titles brewing in the franchise. Monster Hunter was adapted into a movie in 2020, which collected almost $42 million at the box office. However looking at its initial budget of $60 million, it didn’t go well for the makers.

Furthermore, Anderson spoke about making a sequel in 2022. He spoke about taking a few monsters and creating a fun world of the game for his audience. They seemed pretty excited about the project- “Definitely, we would love to make another one. Hopefully, people are going to love it because I know Paul would love to make a sequel. I mean, he’s already writing something.”
