Henry Cavill can’t seem to catch a break. The Witcher star is being served a Leave Notice almost every week. Cavill has recently been denied future participation not only in the Witcher titles but also has been let go by Warner Bros. for Superman movies. The Hollywood star’s recent career happenings have sparked many rumors. Many fans believe that it’s time for Cavill to embark on new ventures in search of new roles. To make things grimmer for Cavill, a recent update revealed that The Man from U.N.C.L.E. star missed the opportunity to play the famous British Secret Service employee we all know from the silver screen.

Per IGN, Martin Campbell, director of Casino Royale, revealed that if it wasn’t for Daniel Craig, Cavill was the likeliest choice for the role of Bond.

Geralt faces monsters unseen before

Henry Cavill is going through a rough patch, of sorts. Despite fans finding him to be great as Geralt of Rivia in the Witcher live adaptation series, Cavill has been let go by Netflix for the next Season. To make matters worse, film producers Warner Bros. also announced that they will be actively looking for a new face in the next Superman movie. This also came as shocking news as Cavill did a pretty good job as Clark Kent in Zack Snyder’s Superman and Justice League movies.

In such times, Cavill has at least been blessed by mass support from the community. Fans have criticized the decisions of both Netflix and WB explicitly, assuring Cavill he is indeed The Man of Steel who can withstand such blows with ease. Cavill also kept to himself, making videos of him building his own gaming PCs. While the fans were coming to terms with the situation, James Bond director Campbell made ripples with new palpable new revelations.

“James Bond” was there for the taking

IGN’s Twitter post quoted Campbell saying, “If Daniel [Craig] didn’t exist Henry [Cavill] would have made an excellent Bond.” Campbell also said Cavill’s audition for the role of deadly spy was “tremendous” and he also had the perfect body shape required for the role. The only thing that stood in Superman’s way was his age.

“He just looked a little young at that time“, Campbell revealed. The news has made fans’ hearts break a little more as undoubtedly many would’ve loved to witness Cavill’s depiction as the seductive spy, working tirelessly to save the planet one more time.

With the role eventually going to the very capable Daniel Craig, Fans now wait to see which path Geralt embarks on for his new journey.
