

Another day, another acquisition. This time, the studio behind Cyberpunk 2077, CD Projekt, has acquired The Molasses Flood. The studio was founded way back in 2014. It is mainly known for working on multiple popular survival titles, including the critically acclaimed Flame in the Blood, Drake Hallow, and many more.

The Molasses Flood announced this news on its official Twitter handle on 22 October 2021. The studio also revealed that they are working closely “on a project within one of their (CD Projekt) existing universes.”

According to reports, Molasses Flood and Cyberpunk’s development team will work together on multiple projects. However, the studio will continue working independently on its other upcoming projects.
Adam Kicinski (CD Projekt president and CEO) is thrilled to be working with Molasses Flood.

CD Projekt is looking for experienced and passionate developers
Currently, CD Projekt is busy making future development plans. This includes working on multiple AAA games and expansions. They are also planning to create more games that positively inspire people.

The studio has already worked on several high-profile titles: PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S version of The Witcher 3 and Cyberpunk 2077, to name two. And now the studio has also started to expand by acquiring new studios.

Molasses Flood is also thrilled to work with such a notable studio. They mainly want to reach a much wider audience through this huge collaboration. Forrest Dowling (Studio Head) said (as reported by Gamesindustry), “When CD Projekt approached us about the possibility of working together, we saw an incredible opportunity to reach a much wider audience through a collaboration with a company we love, creating games in worlds we love. We could not be more excited to continue our mission with the support of CD PROJEKT and their incredibly talented team.”
