The players could only access the royal castle in the third game. But, the entirety of Vizima, its outskirts, and more could be opened up in The Witcher remake. In the original game, all these parts were separated into different levels; hence couldn’t be accessed again after it was completed. However, in the remake, players can walk in and out of the areas just like they did in the Wild Hunt.

Head of the studio, Adam Badowski, said, “The Witcher is where it all started for us, for CD Projekt Red. It was the first game we made, ever, and it was a big moment for us then. Going back to this place and remaking the game for the next generation of gamers to experience it feels just as big, if not bigger,”.
