CDPR is also working on a game with the codename Canis Majoris. This game’s events will take place in the same universe, but won’t have connections to the new main story that started with Polaris. This game is likely set to be a spin-off series, following a character in the Witcher universe. Also, an external studio with members who worked on the past three games would develop Canis Majoris.

The Polish game company also talked about another Witcher project, Sirius. It is claimed to offer a fresh experience, something which the past three games never provided. And, Sirius would have multiplayer and the usual single-player mode. Like Canis Majoris, Sirius would be created by their subsidiary studio, The Molasses Flood.

Can these new series impact the game market?

Multiplayer games have been in trend lately, so we can expect fans to like Sirius. Moreover, a spin-off will offer a new experience to the fans and will help them see the Witcher universe, from some other character’s point of view.

Also, the Witcher fandom has increased lately thanks to the Netflix adaptation and it can drastically improve the game’s sales. Similar to how Cyberpunk 2077 witnessed better sales after the release of its Netflix adaptation, Cyberpunk Edgerunners.
