Challengermode finishes off a funding round in style
The Swedish platform has secured an investment from some big names including Alibaba investment arm eWTP Innovation fund and footballer Zlatan Ibrahimovic. Other investors include the likes of Telia Ventures, GP Bullhound, and Back in Black Capital.
The investment will be used to enable the platform’s growth in the US, particularly North America. Furthermore, this is the second time the Swedish legend Zlatan has invested in the company. This showcases how much the company has grown in recent times.
Robert Efrem, the Co-Founder of Challengermode, expressed his happiness over the new investment in a press release. He stated that the additional funds would help in delivering what they initially set out to do.
“We are very excited to close this new financing round with the support of a strong set of investors who share our vision for esports.
“With the additional backing, we’re able to double down on our core mission of delivering the best competitive gaming experience to each and everyone’s home, in any game”
Efrem further said that they’d be enabling a platform that would allow all sorts of players to compete. The company has been successful in doing that so far and now would be able to expand its reach.
“Our promise to the esports industry is that we will – regardless of player ability or experience – provide a platform that enables anyone to participate in esports.
“That means going beyond just making tournaments easy to host to creating a fun and inclusive community.”
