Regardless of what game you play, cheaters are a huge downside. Especially for a game that’s launched recently, you need to be careful with your player base. Cheaters can even discourage other players from ever touching the game again. The newly launched Valorant faced the same issue but has dealt with it as a high priority.

The closed beta saw a handful of cheaters in the game. They expected to get unbanned after the global launch, but Riot Games has decided against it. This has caused those specific parties to grow frustrated with the company.

Cheaters rant about still being banned

Several players had their fate turn against them with the ban. Valorant’s anti-cheat software, ‘Vanguard,’ has done an excellent job of keeping cheaters away from the game. Although many of them tried to get back into the game, Riot nor any communities would pave the way for them.

Anti-Cheat Police Department on Twitter has taken care of matters from their side. They provided proof of cheaters complaining about the game being ‘harsh’ with their rules. Valorant implemented HWID bans, which means the users’ computers get banned along with their accounts, making it impossible for them to simply change accounts and get back in the game.

Riot CEO Nicolo Laurent also took it to Twitter to share a message from one of the cheaters. The CEO wittingly replied saying, ‘Sorry, no second chances for cheaters.’

The gaming community is full of praise for the developers. Their strict action against cheaters has taught them a lesson or two. Valorant’s no-tolerance policy is a clear example of how a game should be run.

The lack of cheaters in-game makes way for a better experience. Riot Games had faced a lot of issues with the launch, but now that the coast is clear, the game is on track to get better.
