The professional scene of Valorant is collapsing. Many teams are extremely unhappy with their management and this time it looks like the team Evil Geniuses is in uproar. Many teams are reportedly been laying players off and this time EG comes under fire. 

Valorant has made a lot of interesting headlines. This time, it has come as speculation as there have been no official statements made. Although EG has not made an official announcement regarding their plans for the roster. According to the players’ tweets, they seem extremely disappointed about something.

Championship-winning Valorant players are losing their jobs

EG reportedly plans on letting their roster look for other opportunities or deal with significant pay cuts. This decision comes shortly after EG announced the dropping of their reserve roster, including prominent players like Brendan “BcJ” Jensen, Jeffery “Reformed” Lu, and Vincent “Apothen” Le.

Max “purest” Katz, a Valorant reporter, posted that the roster of EG had the choice to explore other opportunities or face a pay cut if they decided to stay with the organization. Before this, several members of the EG roster posted cryptic tweets expressing their frustration.

Despite their recent world championship win, the team is facing potential roster upheaval during the Valorant offseason. This situation mirrors a recent incident where another Valorant team, The Guard, also considered replacing its entire roster after a major victory.

This situation makes people wonder if esports can stay profitable, especially with Riot Games’ franchising system. People are talking about what the future of esports will be like when even top teams can’t be sure about their jobs. The news shocked fans and they are now taking to social media to voice their opinion on EG’s alleged plans.

No one is happy with EG

Before the news dropped, EG players had been tweeting about their feelings regarding how EG was treating them.

EG COM, one of the players, went to Twitter and spoke about how pointless he felt in the team. After winning a championship, he felt disheartened when he heard that the team didn’t care about the players. He did share his appreciation towards his fellow players with whom he won the championships.

 

EG Ethan spoke about the older days of esports. He mentioned how being a good player used to put you in a good team. He went on to say “there was something to grind for, and if you did it successfully, you got to reap the benefits.” “Where winning was everything” he added.

 

One Valorant analyst and caster went on to say that “EG continues to be the worst possible organization. ” She then goes on to mention how the screwed-over players and coaches who made them win the world championships.

Even internet personality and YouTuber Ludwig retweeted the post by Max Katz and expressed his concern for the future of esports. His argument was that if being the best doesn’t cut it. What will?

Some EG fans got angry at the management and demanded their removal from Franchising altogether. Yet again the same question about how the world championship winners don’t get to keep their jobs pop up.

As the Valorant offseason continues, people anticipate more updates about rosters and player transfers. Evil Geniuses has not officially confirmed whether they will keep or release their Valorant players.
