Control: Ultimate Edition Rolls Out Update That Fixes Game Crashes
Control: Ultimate Edition developed by Remedy Entertainment and published by 505 Games was released in the first week of February. 505 Games has released it only on new-gen consoles like PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S for now and the physical copies will hit the retailer shelves tentatively on March 2.
On PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S, the game supports a 60 frames per second Performance Mode and a 30 frames per second Graphics Mode. However, on Xbox, it also has the advantage of ray-tracing. The supernatural third-person shooter action-adventure game received moderate to good reviews for the concept. However, that particular version of the game has also had some bugs.
Users were gradually getting frustrated with the crashes, minute frame drops, and mission-related bugs. Thomas Puha, communications director at Remedy Entertainment tweeted yesterday about issues the developer is currently investigating. He updated that the game will roll out updates for the consoles, which will fix the crash issues.

Update 1.02 is now live on Xbox Series X|S & PS5. The fixes on both consoles are slightly different. For Xbox Series X|S, the developer has fixed some bugs that were crashing the game. Additionally, the game will also appear smoother due to the improved stability.
For PlayStation 5, Remedy has worked on Game Help Localization. It also “fixed a crash that might occur in The Foundation when a Hiss Elevated uses Ground Slam on the player.” So, hopefully, the game on PS5 will finally stop crashing during the specified mission path.

It's a different development branch/version, but the code base is the same. Something else is causing the crashes that are specific to the PCGP version and these are still being investigated and tested.

Then, we're investigating Series X|S crashes with Microsoft, with a fix currently in testing. This would be another update. We'll have more on this as soon as possible.
