There might be a brand new Nintendo Switch console making an appearance with Zelda 2

Those who follow Nintendo closely might remember the time when the first installment arrived five years ago. The day the game launched was the same day the Switch also was revealed, on March 3rd, 2017.

And keeping this fact in consideration, there might be a possibility that fans may witness another brand new Nintendo console next year when Zelda 2 releases. Plus, there are several more technical reasons to assume it will be the case indeed.

Reputed platform Digital Foundry recently came up with a video, on its main YouTube channel, as part of a weekly episode. The discussion consisted of the experts Richard Leadbetter, John Linneman, and Alex Battaglia. They talked about a lot of gaming-related news and major announcements.

While mentioning The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild 2, they also talked about its recent trailer. And breaking it down, they reached an unusual but convincing conclusion that the next entry won’t run on the current generation of Nintendo Switch. Because, according to them, the exceptional quality of the trailer tells a different story altogether.

It showcased extremely high details in terms of anti-aliasing, 1080p/720p rendering, and draw distances. Alex Battaglia, who was one of the three experts, mentioned that the trailer had perfect anti-aliasing, to say the least. And to achieve such a result is a tough task even for the latest console like the Xbox Series X.

Furthermore, volumetric clouds also appeared to be smooth and didn’t break a sweat in their rendition. Considering this kind of early output, experts believed there might be a new Nintendo Switch version powering this game. Because the current version simply lacks such horsepower.

This speculation now perfectly aligns with the fact that Zelda 2 may, in fact, arrive alongside a new Nintendo device, similar to the launch of the first entry.
