The entire community of Zelda is going crazy as the highly anticipated The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom is less than 72 hours away. Nintendo has arranged a special midnight launch. To get the game directly on launch day, hordes of fans have already started camping outside stores, forming long lines.

From avid lovers to YouTubers, everyone has joined the hype surrounding The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. On Twitter, Alex Pekala, aka Alex CND, posted a selfie saying he will be camping outside the store alongside other fans for the next 72 hours to get the goods as fresh as he can.

On May 9th, 2023, Alex posted a picture on his Twitter where he could be seen campaigning on the roads of New York alongside some other gaming enthusiasts. He wrote, “10am today till 10am Friday = 72 full hours. This will be the longest I’ve ever waited without leaving the line. Wish me luck!” while announcing his urban camping experience for the new game.

Pekala has a reputation for enthusiastically participating in as many Nintendo events as he can. Alex was the very first person in line for the Nintendo Switch launch at the NYC store back in 2017. He is one of the most well-known and significant content creators in the Nintendo community on YouTube.

Besides the launch of the game, the Japanese giant’s New York store will be hosting a special midnight event celebrating Tears of the Kingdom. This event has a reservation system, and customers have to have a special “Warp Pipe Pass” to get their spot confirmed. This event is another big reason why fans have already started queuing in front of the store. 

Before the release of the game, Nintendo will also conduct a special Treehouse Live Stream. The broadcast will go live at 6:45 PM PT (9:45 PM ET) on the official Nintendo Treehouse website. This stream will feature some gameplay and showcases from The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom!
