Splinter Cell’s last title, Tom Clancy’s Splinter Cell: Blacklist was the seventh title in Ubisoft’s flagship franchise; launching on August 20, 2013. Now, new reports suggest confirmation from the officials could soon be on its way.

Splinter Cell: A Revival of the Franchise
Ubisoft’s CEO, Yves Guillemot last year said, “the Splinter Cell series needed to evolve before it could make a comeback,” as reported by VGC. And if the reports as true, it looks like the developers have finally found an innovative solution to “evolve” the series.

As per a reliable industry insider and writer for VGC, sources suggest “Ubisoft has greenlit” the next Splinter Cell game. And if that wasn’t enough, they even went as far as claiming the title is in the “early phase of production“. Some reports even say Splinter Cell’s previous title’s developer based in Montreal isn’t in charge of the apparent game.
If any of these claims turn out to be accurate, the community will not have to wait much longer for a word from the devs themselves. Ubisoft could possibly announce the next title of the Splinter Cell franchise as early as next year.
