The CS2 competitive scene has just started to kick off, and the game has already hosted 2 major tournaments. Within the first 2 months of the release of the game, Valve has hosted several tournaments to see how the players are liking the Esports scene for the new game. Many teams that were playing CS:GO professionally have transitioned to CS2. While some teams have remained the same through the transition, others are making major lineup changes.

With the Blast Fall Finals approaching, the top 8 CS2 teams will be competing head-to-head for a prize pool of $425,000. Among them, one team said goodbye to their team leader right before the tournament.

On November 22, 2023, Astralis officially announced that Lukas “gla1ve” Rossander had come to an agreement with a new organization. This was done after completing his tenure with Astralis. The team gave a heartfelt farewell to the player on their official X handle. In the post, there were some words of gratitude and encouragement for the player’s future endeavors.

The Astralis team had the most dominant run in the history of the game under Gla1ve’s leadership. One line from the post on X said, “Lukas has always had a special place, as a culture bearer in the creation of the first Danish Major winners, as the man who riled up the fans in difficult periods, and as one of those who always went to the front in triumph and defeat.”

Today, Gla1ve is widely recognized as one of the best in-game leaders ever, who has actively changed the way the game is played. Under his captaincy, he maintained the longest run on top of the world rankings and actively contributed to the team’s identity.

The announcement includes an emotional farewell message from Astralis expressing gratitude to Gla1ve for his contributions. Gla1ve is assured that he will forever be a part of Astralis, the Astralis family, and the team’s history.

Gla1ve’s journey in Astralis

Gla1ve joined Astralis in 2016, joining the team after leaving Team Heroic. He played a crucial role in establishing Astralis as one of the best teams globally. Under his leadership, the team secured four major victories and maintained a dominant position in the CS:GO landscape.

Some notable achievements include triumphs at prestigious events like the BLAST Pro Series: Global Final 2019, StarLadder Berlin Major 2019, Intel Extreme Masters XIII: Katowice Major 2019, FACEIT Major: London 2018, and ELEAGUE Major Atlanta 2017.

Gla1ve’s leadership and strategic prowess have consistently propelled Astralis to success. Notably, they secured a remarkable $1,000,000 from the Intel Grand Slam Season 1 in 2018. These accomplishments solidify his status as one of the game’s premier leaders.

Earlier in the year, Gla1ve moved to the team bench, allowing Astralis to undergo a restructuring with new players. Having been on the sidelines for nearly five months, Gla1ve sees this departure as an opportunity to showcase his playing skills with a new organization.
