Cyberpunk 2077 was the most awaited game in recent years. Fans had high hopes for the game as CD Projekt RED developed it, the same creators who made The Witcher series. Moreover, the game featured John Wick and Matrix star Keanu Reeves, which further hyped the game. But the game failed to meet that excitement.

It’s been two years since the release of Cyberpunk 2077 and it is now that the action RPG is getting attention now after it failed to attract the audience at the start. Recently, this game has reached an epic milestone that it had failed to achieve during the initial days, all thanks to its anime adaptation.

After its release, fans praised the game for its visuals, gameplay, and storytelling. The developers fixed the bugs with updates and DLCs. But the game had already lost its hype among the fans. However, after going away from everyone’s minds, the game again resurfaced recently. CD Project RED joined hands with Netflix to create an anime series, Cyberpunk Edgerunners.

The anime series turned out to be a significant hit. Fans loved the Netflix show for its animation, plot, character development, and world-building. But the anime also helped the drowning Cyberpunk 2077 not just to float but start flying. The amount of active players every day proves the hype of this game among fans now.

If having one million active players in Cyberpunk seems impossible, then the game has achieved another fascinating feat. Cyberpunk 2077 has been the top-selling game on Steam for five weeks in a row. The sales for this 2020 action RPG are even better than new games like Call of Duty: Modern Warfare and FIFA 23.
