Dead Space Remake just launched, and it is winning praise from every direction. Gamers are enjoying their time with this updated version of the 2008 original. As we have discussed before, the developer EA Motive Studio has added much more than just visual upgrades to it.

One thing that people are talking about the most is the alternate ending that players can unlock in this game. Aside from giving players a few more cut scenes to watch, this alternate ending adds much more to the game than many can imagine!

The alternate ending in Dead Space Remake sets up the sequel!

Dead Space is a big-budget survivor horror third-person game that puts players in the shoes of Isaac Clarke. The game opens with Isaac Entering USG Ishimura, a planet cracker that sent out an emergency signal to earth.

Isaac is an engineer and volunteers for this trip in hopes of meeting his girlfriend who is onboard Ishimura. She had been in touch with him for a while and now is the chance for him to meet her!

For those who have yet to play this game, Spoilers Start Here! When Isaac and his crew enter the mining ship, they notice everyone is gone. On further investigation, it is revealed that some weird creatures have taken over the ship and Isaac and the team have to find a way to fix this ship and know what exactly happened.

How to Complete the Alternative Ending and Get the Secret Dead Space Remake Trophy

During the course of all this, Nicole, Isaac’s girlfriend guides Isaac through missions. When he reaches the end, it is revealed that everything in that ship was caused by something called the marker.

The marker was first discovered by the crew of Ishimura when mining on some planet and it affected their mind in such a manner that they created a religion praying and praising the marker.

It is also revealed that Nicole died long before Isaac set foot on Ishimura and it was actually the marker affecting his head and making him think it was her calling him.

The alternate ending involves Isaac collecting a bunch of marker fragments and creating a marker out of them. He is also seen interacting with Nicole who appears to be alive now!

How does this ending set up a sequel?

Everyone remembers that the original Dead Space had a sequel, and that sequel started with Isaac in a mental institution where some people of authority inform him that he created a marker. He on the other hand does not remember a thing!

The alternate ending of this new game actually shows him building a marker, revealing that this thing has total control over him now. Fans are interpreting this as a sign of EA Motive working on the remake of Dead Space 2.
