Dead Space Remake players will need to follow certain crucial steps in order to unlock the secret ending. Here’s what they need to remember in to eventually succeed in their quest:

  • Complete the game on any difficulty level to unlock the New Game Plus mode.
  • Start a fresh Campaign in New Game Plus. All the weapons, suits, and upgrades from the previous save will be staying in this mode.
  • Collect all the 12 Marker Fragments that are spread across the Ishimura in different chapters.
  • Reach to the third floor of the Crew Quarters and enter Captain Mathius’ room.
  • In this room, place all 12 Markers in the circle of an ominous shrine.
  • After doing this, strange whispers will be heard followed by the end of the side quest.
  • Complete the rest of the game normally till the climactic moment when Isaac escapes Ishimura.

In the secret ending, Isaac is seen talking to the dead Nicole once again. He makes a promise of reaching home soon. Interestingly, he also mentions that he will build a little something before going back. It means that he might end up making another Marker. The camera then cuts behind before the credits roll.
