In our youth, we all say or do stuff that may come to bite us in the future. Even Hollywood stars like Ryan Reynolds aren’t any different. In the early stages of his career, Ryan had made some controversial takes here and there, which is very common in the field. But among all of his comments, one stood out in others. It made some serious waves back in the day.

Almost 13 years ago in an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Ryan made a controversial comment about games and gaming in general. In the interview, he was asked questions about illuminations such as Jon and Kate Plus 8, and video games, among other things. He greatly tackled all the questions until he opened his mouth on the topic of video games! 

What did Ryan Reynolds say about games? 

Ryan Reynolds is an actor with worldwide recognition. He is mostly known for his comedic roles and sharp, witty answers during his interviews. He had acclaimed a massive following and fame after his phenomenal performance in the Deadpool movies.

Along with being an actor, he is also a brilliant businessman. He didn’t pause when got his Hollywood fame, but he used that fame and money to broaden his horizons. In 2018, Ryan acquired the American Gin company Aviation.

This was just the beginning as time went on he acquired many other businesses. He bought the Online wireless service provider, Mint Mobile. But in February 2021, he went over and beyond. Ryan Reynolds and his Fellow Hollywood friend Rob McElhenney announced that they had purchased the Wrexham football team! 

But even with all his ventures in different sectors, one could question why he never tried to dip his toes into the Gaming industry. Because according to him, games are a “Waste of time”. In the interview with Entertainment Weekly, he asked about his thoughts on video games. To this question, he simply answered, “I don’t really play video games. Is there a way to waste more f—ing time? The Internet’s enough. The last video game I played was Ms. Pacman.”

Is he still true to his comment? 

Ironically, one of Ryan’s most recent movies, Free Guy is actually based on video games. Maybe after all this time, he had a change of mind, or maybe he just realized how much profitable the gaming industry is. No matter what you say about this actor, one thing you have to give him credit is for his incredible skills.
