Despite Mixed Reviews, Halo Plays a Massive Hand in Paramount+ Netting $585 Million

Halo has mesmerized the fans across the globe for years, ever since its first game came out more than two decades ago. Fast forward to 2022, and there exists an official TV series adaptation based on the highly successful video gaming saga.

Paramount’s Halo TV series, which initially received mixed reactions from critics, has eventually turned out to be a gigantic hit. According to the latest report, the show resulted in massive earnings for the Paramount+ streaming platform. Not just that, but it also escalated its number of subscribers as well since its debut earlier this year.

The ongoing series is an American military sci-fi show developed by Kyle Killen and Steven Kane. It debuted on March 24, 2022, on the Paramount+ streaming service. Based on the iconic fan-favorite saga, the show sees the live-action versions of memorable characters like Master Chief aka Officer John 117, and Cortana.

The first season is comprised of six episodes, while the entire series is already renewed for a second season.

Recently, industry insider and one of the trusted scoopers on Twitter, Benji, shared crucial information on his account. While mentioning the Halo TV series, he tweeted that the show has been a major success on the streaming platform. Paramount revealed this news in its earnings call.

Benji further wrote that, “Halo is a huge global hit.”

The series contributed to a lot of profit that Paramount recently earned. Last quarter saw an enormous growth for its streaming service, as it gained 6.8 million subscribers. As of now, it stands at over 40 million global subscribers, thanks to the popularity of the series.

Paramount also revealed that Halo emerged as one of the best performing titles on its service. Eventually, the profit also grew effectively by “148% to $585m for the quarter.”

The series is now available for streaming worldwide for the fans of Master Chief and the overall franchise.

Meanwhile, gaming lovers can also enjoy the already released latest installment in the saga, which is Halo Infinite. The latter is available exclusively for the Xbox as well as PC.
