It’s been six years since the release of the Nintendo Switch. This console was a revolution in the industry, as it offered a unique experience to gamers. The players were able to enjoy handheld and home console experiences at the same time with this Nintendo console. And it was one of the reasons it became one of the best-selling consoles in history, selling over 111.08 million copies.
But despite the good sales and revolutionary concept this console brought, it also fell victim to the fast-paced technological evolution. The game industry sees significant advancement every year. And most console makers have released their latest installments. Meanwhile, Switch is still in the market, and the technological limitations are a problem. It might be the best time for a Nintendo Switch successor.

Will the Nintendo Switch Pro be released in 2023?
There were multiple speculations about a Nintendo Switch Pro releasing in 2022. We are already nearing the end of the year, and so far, there is no Switch Pro on the market. Moreover, Nintendo President Shuntaro Furukawa revealed that there wouldn’t be any hardware advancements in the current fiscal year. Despite Furukawa’s announcement, there is a massive chance for a Switch Pro next year.

Recently, the Japanese giants hosted the Nintendo Direct, revealing their upcoming games, which included The Legends of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. However, the video game company didn’t show anything about the much-awaited Metroid Prime 4. They were also excluded from showing many gameplays of upcoming games.

There is a possibility that they are storing all these games for a later reveal with a new console. If we follow Furukawa, there won’t be any new hardware until March 2023. But there can be a possible release in the following months. Further, the current Switch was released in 2017 alongside the Breath of the Wild game. So, the upcoming Zelda release in May 2023 would be the perfect launch game for Switch Pro.
Can the Switch Pro be released before May 2023?
If the Japanese giants stick with their President’s words, then there will be no new hardware before March 2023. But in the past, Nintendo ignored hardware advancement rumors and later released the 3DS console. They also can release the Switch Pro near the end of the current fiscal year, March 2023.
