The message was from a dad who had lost his oldest child to Ewings Sarcoma, an aggressive Pediatric Cancer. Above all, the person attempts to spread awareness in a wholesome fashion.

He asked everyone to go gold for September. The reason is that the respective month is Childhood Cancer Awareness month with the color gold associated with it. Moreover, the Reddit thread in the tweet clearly defined his intentions behind it. Here is the tweet:

The thread mentions, “No monetary gains here, just a supportive gesture asked by one dad to others. So I am asking again if you would, my fellow dads and Guardians to please join me and go gold for the month of September.
