

Nintendo’s Mario Kart 8 Deluxe was very successful at launch. Its gameplay was familiar yet innovative and, by nature, this game naturally attracted players. But it was a Nintendo Switch Re-release of a Wii U game.

Fans who were loving their time with Mario Kart 8 Deluxe recently started wondering if Nintendo is actually working on a new game in the series. There were numerous rumors and a number of leaks too. And indeed, Nintendo was working on something Mario Kart-related, but it was a DLC pass for Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, and not a new game altogether.

Nintendo announced the pass during a Nintendo Direct early this year and they revealed all the details regarding the same. It would contain six waves in total and each wave would feature two cups with four fan-favorite remastered or remade courses.

Recently Nintendo confirmed through their Twitter account that the third wave in this pass would be launching on December 7 and it would consist of eight tracks and two new cups. These cups and tracks are as follows.

These tracks would complete the waves that Nintendo has planned for this year. Next year would bring with it another three waves, which would have an additional 24 tracks.

To avid fans of this mascot kart racer, this pass really offers a lot of value. Players basically get a collection of the best Mario Kart tracks from every game released yet in one place. This reminds us of how Nintendo released Sumer Smash Bros. Ultimate as the one Smash Bros. game after which players would now have to buy any other game ever. Thanks to its collection of characters from all over the series and some newer highly requested characters.
