A basis of the past that might hint at the past whereabouts of Paimon

To form the basis of chronology and behaviorism, it is important to grasp the knowledge of the past. The lands of Teyvat have always housed unmatched power and abilities. Subsequently, this gives rise to evil powers as well. Chiefly, to save the civilization, Sumeru Greater Lord Rukkhadevata had sacrificed herself during the cataclysm 500 hundred years ago.

Moreover, King Deshret and Greater Lord Rukkhadevata intend to save their people. It is believed by the people of Aranara that one can give up their memories or their entire self to unleash great power. Similarly, Lord Rukkhadevata sacrificed her memories and a portion of herself. All of this was done by her to help King Deshret save his people 500 years ago.

Consequently, she left the Archon in the form of a child, Nahida, with no past memories. Nahida, the playable Dendro Archon character in the game, still remains unknown of her full potential as per the storyline. Going on this basis, something could be unraveled about Paimon.

Is Paimon an Archon and does she exist as the God of Time?

Paimon remains the first NPC that The Traveller meets in the game. Carrying a joyful nature, she seems to never leave the side of her companion. Moreover, she also guides the player in the initial stages of the story. Surprisingly, not much is known about her backstory. Thus, leaving room for speculation and connection to the in-game theories.

Pointed out and described by the YouTube channel Teyvat Historia, going by this theory, something could be unearthed about Paimon. For once, it can be absorbed that Paimon had a much greater form in the past. Moreover, the game houses the myth of the God of Time. Now, interestingly Paimon remains in motion during the Pause Menu. Which could hint at her controlling the time.

Moreover, one can also absorb the scenario of Paimon losing her greater self, like Lord Rukkhadevata. Although, when, and whether it was done to save the people or to halt the cataclysm, remains untracked. But surely such a connection might root a possibility.

Lastly, Paimon does share a resemblance in the naming of archons who got their names from Ars Goetia. For example, Zhongli from Morax, Venti from Barabatos, Fischl from Amy, Paimon, and Ei from Beelzebub. Since Nahida’s earlier name is yet to be disclosed, it doesn’t become an exclusive thought.

Concludingly, all of this could be birthed from the thought of the concealment of the God of Time. Moreover, Paimon could be holding a different history altogether. Nevertheless, such events do resemble a possibility. Thus, one can only wish for the unfolding of Paimon’s deeper backstory in Genshin Impact.
