New Horizons’ initial release date is March 20, 2022. Back in February, Nintendo itself reported ACNH secured the second-highest selling title after Mario Kart 8 Deluxe (sold 7.7 million units) by selling 5.0 million units between October to December 2021. This proves how much impact New Horizons has created on the community.

Interestingly, 5.0 million is not even half of the units ACNH sold in 2020. After consolidating the second-highest selling title on Nintendo Switch, fans had some expectations from developers for the game’s two-year anniversary.
