Valorant might soon be on its way to consoles

A while ago, some players dug through the archives of Valorant and found some icons that indicated the face buttons of Xbox and PlayStation controllers. And in a very recent development, someone found a couple of job postings from Riot games that indicate that the developer is on the lookout for a senior designer and a design manager specifically for the console.

Now the reaction to people finding controller icons and these job postings has not been very positive. All of Valorant’s current player base is that of PC players and now they are all worried that bringing the game to consoles would leave them having to deal with people utilizing aim assist in the game for easy headshots.

Valorant is a first-person tactical hero shooter developed by Riot games. It has developed a huge fan following ever since it launched back in June 2020. Some say the game took its inspiration from other tactical shooters, like Counter-Strike in many of its mechanics. The game features a number of new and classic game modes such as Deathmatch, Premier, Escalation, Snowball Fight, etc. And a number of playable heroes to choose from.

It remains to be seen when Riot Games officially announce these console versions and it would also be interesting to see if the game makes its way to the Nintendo Switch as well. Most competitive live service games such as Fortnite, Overwatch 2, and Apex Legends eventually made it to Nintendo’s Hybrid console.
