Titanfall is long hailed as one of the best first-person shooting franchises of all time. Despite its huge popularity, there has been no noise from the developers since its last installment’s release in 2016. But as things stand, there might be a treat waiting for the fans.

Respawn Entertainment took just 2 years to release Titanfall 2, the sequel to 2014’s Titanfall, the first game of the series. After 7 long years, finally, we might be witnessing some new updates regarding the highly wanted Titanfall 3. At least the recent patch notes for Apex Legends and a sudden update in Titanfall 2 hint at this.

Titanfall 2 has been facing a server issue for a long time. The whole server of the game was plagued by hackers; the disconnect issue was already there. You would get disconnected from the matchmaking automatically if the game failed to find an active server within a couple of minutes. For a 7-year-old game without a robust player count and regular updates, this became a big issue for the game’s loyal players.

But in the past few days, out of nowhere, players have been getting quick matchmaking with hacker-free servers, making the gameplay much better. Respawn has quietly fixed this server issue with a patch update recently. Not only that, the game is getting its first regular playlist updates after ages.

And, over the past month, players have been discovering that map locations that previously hosted things like out-of-bound exploits have been fixed. Each of them is marked by a tiny plush of the Nessie mascot from Respawn’s big current game, Apex Legends.

This was Titanfall 2. Another big title from Respawn, Apex Legend, has joined the party. The little Nassie mascot appeared in Titanfall 2, exactly around the time when Apex Legend’s current season, Ressurection, launched. But the most interesting part is the patch notes for this update. In the very end of the notes, we got to see something like this: “Incoming Transmission… Subject: Nessie… 1394521200, 1477638000, 1549267200.”

You might be wondering what the connection is between these patch notes and the highly anticipated Titanfall installment. Actually, those three numbers are the Unix timestamps representing the respective release dates for Titanfall, Titanfall 2, and Apex Legends. So, there might be some chance.

Fans seem to be hopeful
