Nintendo announced good news for its fans. This video game-making giant recently declared to bring back the Wii U servers for Splatoon Online and Mario Kart 8. Since March, players were not able to access the multiplayer version of these two games. Certainly, this made fans disappointed to not experience their favorite Mario Kart 8 online.

Both Mario Kart 8 and Splatoon Online have been fan favorites since their launch. However, these games faced glitches in multiplayer mode. Now following their return, fans are expecting to get back to the old Mario and Splatoon memories.

Nintendo brings back Mario Kart 8 and Splatoon

While Nintendo didn’t spill many details about the problems in Online mode, a trusted social media source spoke about the consoles were likely affected by a virus after connecting it to the games’ online modes. Following this issue, Nintendo finally decided to take the Online mode of both Mario Kart 8 and Splatoon in March with short notice.

 Nintendo’s official UK support website confirmed that this was a short-time plan to fix the game bugs. Recently Nintendo officially announced about returning the Wii U server of both Mario Kart 8 and Splatoon Online for Switch on the 3rd of August.

Nintendo’s Mario Kart 8 was the eleventh installment in the Mario Kart franchise. This game was released in 2014 as a fun racing game on an arcade platform. Soon after its release, like other Mario games, Mario Kart 8 was able to steal fans’ hearts. Following the sale of 55 million copies of the game by September 2022, it appeared as the second best-selling game by Nintendo. Similarly, Splatoon is Nintendo’s other production, which is a third person-based shooter game. After its release in 2015, Splatoon also received immense positive appreciation from the players.

Apart from bringing back online servers of Mario Kart 8 and Splatoon Online, Nintendo reportedly set a new milestone with their new The Legends of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. Within months of its release, this game brought a record quarter for Nintendo’s Switch as the company earned over $13.5 million with the game’s sales.
