Dying Light 2: The Wait Continues as Techland Announces Heartbreaking News

It is almost as if the wait is never-ending for Dying Light fans. Following the gameplay trailer from two weeks ago, Techland had upsetting news for the community this time, as it pushed back the release date for Dying Light 2 to 2022.

The original announcement for the second installment of the Dying Light series was three years ago, at E3 2018. Since then, the title has had numerous changes in all aspects. Although the fans are pleased with multiple looks at the gameplay and regular updates via the Dying 2 Know series, questions are starting to come up.

Dying Light 2 Stay Human was scheduled to release on December 7, 2021. But earlier today, the officials announced a slight change of plans. The update regarding the release date came along with a message and an apology from the CEO of Techland, Pawel Marchewka.

Unfortunately, fans will now have to wait till February 4, 2022, to get their hands on the latest edition of the open-world action RPG. The first game, Dying Light had over 20 million players worldwide. And fans have been waiting for a sequel since the title’s launch in 2015.

Pawel Marchewka talks about the importance of transparency between the community and developers and how it affects the way fans receive a game. He states, “the team is steadily progressing with the production and the game is nearing the finish line. The game is complete and we are currently playtesting it.” Thankfully, the waiting period will not be dull in any manner. Marchewka, along with the new date, also revealed Techland’s plans leading to the title’s release next year.

Since the game is already complete is undergoing playtests, it will be available for content creators and others in the industry to try out for themselves. The game will release the test version next month for both PC and console, but there’s no news of public testing. Creators and streamers will experience “The City” to its fullest as the devs plan on previewing the game at major events.
